Doorstep helps residents book everyday services. This page explains what personal information we collect when you make a booking, why, and who we share it with. You don't need an account to use the site.
What we collect
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your building and unit number
- The service you request, your preferred time and any notes you add
We don't take payments online, so we never collect card or banking details on this website.
How we use it
Only to arrange and carry out your booking: confirming your appointment, sending you updates, giving the service provider what they need to do the job, and answering your questions. We don't sell your information or use it for advertising, and we don't email you marketing.
Who we share it with
- The service provider doing your job gets the details they need (for example your name, phone number and unit).
- Companies that run our website: hosting, our database and our email service. They store data on our behalf and may process it outside Canada.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Your booking link
Each booking has a private tracking link. It shows the service, price, time and status, but never your email, phone number or unit. Anyone with the link can see that page, so please don't share it.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records for as long as we need them to provide the service and keep proper business records, then delete them.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at hello@trydoorstep.ca. If you have a concern about how we handle your information, please tell us first so we can fix it. You can also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
